In this context saliency defines the level of importance for a region being observed on a 3D mesh. Mesh simplification gains importance as the complexity of meshes increase. In a recent study mesh saliency is developed for single objects. Mesh simplification using saliency is based on simplifying the salient regions less and other regions more. It is possible to get much better results compared to previous algorithms. This is analogous to mp3 audio compression because it ignores the frequencies that our ears aren\'t much sensitive to. In this study we are trying to ignore the regions that our eyes aren\'t attracted to. I will talk about the saliency metric for animated meshes we are trying to develop.
